I recently graduated from Babson College, where I studied entrepreneurship, marketing, and business administration. While in school, my work experience included several small-scale entrepreneurial projects as well as construction management and general real estate development. Since a young age, I’ve had a passion for starting ventures and leading teams. One of my earliest entrepreneurial endeavors was in grade school selling ice cream and refreshments to boaters who were on the local pond for the day. Outside of work and school I found myself passionate about sports and volunteer work. I was lucky enough to be elected captain of our rugby program at Babson two out of my four years on the team and helped initiate our push to run tournaments and volunteer projects for various causes, including breast cancer awareness, wounded veterans, and a local food drive. My love for animals has a part of me for as long as I can remember. In fact, my earliest memory is driving our family dog home and stopping to get him a munchkin at Dunkin’ Donuts. Now I am happy to say that I truly believe I have found a way to bring all of my passions and experience to a culmination in MycomPETibility.com. I founded MycomPETibility after time spent volunteering at a local Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA). Unfortunately, I saw my favorite puppy, Nala, adopted and soon returned because the home was just not the right fit for her. My belief that there needed to be a solution to this all too common problem quickly grew into the business that I now live and breathe. Today my main focus is the overall vision and market position of the company, with an emphasis on shelter outreach. Outside of the office I continue to expand my knowledge in the industry through training and behavior classes and certifications. I strive for the company—and me personally—to play a substantial role in the successful placement of adoptable animals and the continued promotion of responsible pet ownership. As we launch the site, I am confident that MycomPETibility will positively affect pets, adopters, and shelters/rescues nationwide, at no cost!

I have a passion for developing and growing companies that positively impact the individuals they serve. For the first 25 years of my career, I built a publishing company in the educational space that helped define the course of content delivery to students across the United States. We were instrumental in transforming educational publishing from conventional texts to online teaching, assessment, and testing. At the time of the company’s purchase, we employed nearly 1,000 people and were the industry leader across all North American publishers. From there, I changed my professional direction to the rehabilitation of historic structures. I forged a small yet far-reaching real estate development firm to manage the planning and acquisition of such properties. Our focus is partnering with townships to redevelop key sites to help facilitate affordable and market rate residential life in order to promote community-wide growth and responsible development. Our efforts have won praise from each of the townships we partner with as well as national awards for our quality craftsmanship and preservation efforts. My involvement in MycomPETibility.com affords me the opportunity to utilize my skill set to follow my two lifelong passions: building socially responsible, industry-changing companies and supporting animal welfare. From a young age, I’ve been involved in the protection of animals. Whether I was rescuing turtles from the road, saving dragonflies from the pond I grew up on, or taking in stray pets, our family was always deeply concerned with animal well-being. Today I’m blessed with three dogs: two Greyhound rescues (Amanda and Emmet) and one Pit Bull rescue (Landis). They are amazing animals that are part of our everyday life at home and work, and even when we’re traveling. And I’m quite sure others are not far off… In my role at MycomPETibility I oversee day-to-day operations and growth strategies with an emphasis on mutually beneficial partnerships that serve our shelters and clients. This endeavor sparks in me a passion to help build the best online community possible and eventually see shelter animals always find a home and—more importantly—the right home. Not only will MycomPETibility change the way animals are adopted, it will also break down stereotypes of pet breeds as well as individuals by matching lifestyles and ensuring lifelong relationships.

Growing up, I always had a love for animals. Throughout my younger years I volunteered at numerous shelters and spent plenty of quality time with our beloved family member Addison (Golden Retriever). As I headed off to college, I endeavored to intertwine my love and passion for helping animals with the new journey I was about to embark on. Throughout my college years at Bryant University, I continued to volunteer at nearby shelters, whether that meant attending adoption events, spending weekends at the shelter, or helping secure corporate sponsorships. As I focused my collegiate studies on marketing, I was able to couple my projects and campaigns with my desire to help animals and shelters. My most notable campaign was a collaboration with the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) in which we were able to raise thousands of dollars along with major public awareness on the importance of spaying and neutering pets. After college, I earned my real estate license and joined MEGRYCO, Inc., a real estate development firm focused on rehabilitating historical structures into residential units, thus bringing residential life back into key areas of towns and cities. Today I still have a hand in marketing real estate and also volunteer at local shelters; however, my main focus has been on jumpstarting MycomPETibility.com. As director of marketing, I handle all regional and national marketing to both shelters and end users, with an emphasis on the long-term use of MycomPETibility’s online resources. MycomPETibility combines my passion for animals and my love of and expertise in marketing—and I truly believe that the benefit it provides to animals, shelters, and adopters is limitless. I currently share my home with three rescue animals—two rabbits (Mika and Wilson) and a cat (Dakota)—and I’m looking forward to adding a dog to the mix through MycomPETibility.com when the time comes!

I have been overseeing software production and infrastructural endeavors for over 15 years. I have a wide array of experience with a multitude of platforms and software languages. What I really enjoy is the challenge of dissecting a problem and finding the optimal solution, whether it is developing a platform independent interface or streamlining end users’ data entry to provide a more pleasant experience. I have been involved with several websites in a variety of business sectors such as publishing, construction/property management, and automotive; thus, I have gained insight into how varying end users interact with different tools. I am responsible for managing the team that is developing the MycomPETibility site. Our aim is to produce a user experience that stands out as the best in the industry. Performance, ease of use, and our one-of-a-kind quality matching algorithms are just some of the target factors we have for MycomPETibility.com When I’m not reading up on the latest web coding tricks, I love spending quality time with my wife, two daughters, and the world’s “toughest” Shih Tzu, Buster.

I have been working within the art and design industry for over 20 years, with the most recent 5 years focused on digital and media design. I collaborate closely with clients, helping them clearly outline the goals and objectives of design programs at the onset. I then monitor all work throughout the process. Because today design and content are linked more closely than ever before, this approach ensures design quality meets and exceeds clients’ expectations and requirements. Over the past several years my team of experienced artists and designers has been recognized and received awards for their work. At MycomPETibility I am responsible for the site’s visual design and user interface. I ensure that both meet the needs of site users so that they can more easily navigate both the website and mobile app. I currently share my home with an adorable toy poodle named Gloria.

I have been working with images and permissions for the past 18 years, mainly in the educational publishing space. I have managed the image programs for hundreds of educational programs in both the college and K-12 market, while also ensuring compliance with rights and permissions requirements. I was instrumental in building a rights and permissions department that currently numbers over 100 people. I have also been involved in building and developing an industry-leading photo research and rights management platform. At MycomPETibility, I am responsible for and oversee all imagery, including new photography and stock images, and their licensing. In addition, my team research and I permission all articles and reference content used in the MycomPETibility “Research” area. I grew up in New England and always had a dog when I was a child. My family currently has a very active and very sweet English Setter named Hunter.

I’ve been working with content writing and editing in the educational publishing space for 10+ years. I have broad experience in developing both school and college content across a wide range of subjects, and I work closely with numerous cross-functional teams on creating new and engaging types of both print and digital content that is available via a variety of platforms and devices. In addition, I’ve personally done significant editing in a variety of disciplines, and I wrote and edited 100% of the site content for RunBoston.org, a company I co-founded in 2009. At MycomPETibility, my job is to ensure that the site content remains useful and engaging for all current and potential pet owners. A lifelong lover of animals, I grew up on a farm on the Midwest, spending my childhood surrounded by multiple cats, dogs, and sometimes the neighbor’s sheep and cattle. My college years were spent with a fluffy Siamese, brought home after a summer interning for the local Humane Society. Today I am lucky to share my home with several two-legged family members and also my favorite four-legged friends—Copley, a 7-year-old black and white Great Dane, and two kittens, an Abyssian named Shadow and a Lynx Point Siamese named Jon Snow (AKA “Snowy”).

I am an industrial and organizational psychologist with over 15 years of experience in the development, administration, and validation of assessment tools for employment, healthcare, and education. At MycomPETibility, I created and am responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the science behind the matches a prospective pet owner sees when seeking a new family member. My personality and relationship algorithms are designed to intelligently match potential pet owners with the best possible pet for them—leading to both happy owners and happy animals. My overall area of expertise is computer-based assessments with an emphasis on computer adaptive testing, automatic item generation, and predictive analytics. In the past I’ve developed original formulas and algorithms for a variety of intelligent systems that span industries, and I’ve built and implemented advanced predictive models for Fortune 100 companies within information technology and healthcare. I’m also the inventor of the Internet-based, Smart Test Technology platform, a computer adaptive testing system, and have published extensively in several professional journals. Though I don’t currently have a pet due to frequent travel, I was lucky enough to grow up with a variety of dogs—including a Great Dane, an Alaskan Huskie, a German Shepherd, and a Lab/Doberman mix. Growing up in the country, my blue-collar family—and particularly my dad—loved big, strong, working dogs. And I do, too.

A graduate of the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, I’ve been a practicing veterinarian at Veterinary Associates of Cape Cod since 2000. I was an honors student at Tufts Veterinary School and throughout my undergraduate years. While at Tufts, I received a Geraldine Dodge Foundation fellowship. Preceding my veterinary studies at Tufts, I attended Boston College where I graduated Cum Laude in 1994. Following Boston College, I spent one year at the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and Children's Hospital Pediatric Research Facility. I became the Hospital Director of Veterinary Associates of Cape Cod in 2005. I also servea on the board of directors for the Cape Animal Referral & Emergency Center (CARE), and am a past-president of the Cape Cod Veterinary Medical Association. In 2007, I received a citation from Governor Deval Patrick, Speaker of the House Salvatore DiMasi, State Rep. Cleon Turner and the entire membership of the Massachusetts House of Representatives in recognition of my vital role in protecting the commonwealth from rabies. My wife Whitney and I share our home with three children, Jack, Ellie, and Chloe, and a mixed breed dog named Fin. I’m not just a lover of dogs, though—in my free time, I enjoy underwater photography, and my photographs, in particular of sharks, have been published in numerous magazines, including Asian Geographic, Asian Diver, and Shark Diver Magazine. You can see some of my photographs at www.capecodsharkdiver.com.

I am a CPDT-KA certified trainer with years of experience with dogs of all different breeds and training needs, although I do spend more training time with dogs who were adopted from shelters and rescues. I love working with dogs who have been given a second lease on life. I am also the owner and founder of Clear Skies Dog Training and Evaluation, LLC. Clear Skies’ mission is to extend positive reinforcement training into the “strong breed” world of dog training—that is, we focus much of our efforts on “bullying” or larger breeds of dogs. Training is an important part of owning a dog, and having a trainer who you can trust and rely on is vital. I am also the proud owner of Blueberry the Pit Bull Therapy Dog, who has done more to change people’s minds about what pit bulls are like than I could ever imagine (you can find her on Facebook!). I also gain inspiration from my two late dogs, Romut and Girlie, who brought joy and peace into my life. I truly believe dogs are a wonderful gift, and I hope through training and guidance to improve the lives of dogs and their owners.
